Located just 79 km west of Havana in the Las Terrazas forest preserve, Hotel La Moka is one of the most unique hotels we've seen.
Set amid the forested hills of Las Terrazas, it's difficult to say where the 4-star hotel stops and the forest starts. In short, the Moka is romantic, intimate, and fully deserving of your time.

Moka's designed is based on a contemporary interpretation of Spanish colonial architecture, and features a splendid multi-tiered atrium lobby built around a large lime tree (the branches magically disappear through the skylight). The two-story units have magnificent red-barked trees growing through the balconies and ceiling.

Complejo Turistico Las Terrazas is located in an area of around 5,000 hectares, in which a project of sustainable rural economy is being developed, based on the rational use of its natural resources for tourism. The buildings of Las Terrazas Community have been designed to blend with their surroundings.

Hotel La MOKA

My review: Wonderful location and spectacular views.
Good bar and attractive pool, although the latter was soiled on our third day when it was taken over by a large noisy party of local people, smoking, drinking and spitting in the water.
Tried to organise a walking tour through reception as advertised but when we turned up at the location it hadn't been arranged.

How was your room?: Large, clean and comfortable with excellent bathroom and balcony and great views. Lovely to have a ceiling fan.
How was the food the offer?: Hotel restaurant very average, but attached local paladarsn village were excellent.

Standard Room Hotel La Moka

Each room has floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a French door leading onto a spacious terra-cotta-tiled balcony with tables, reclining chairs, and a to-die-for view through the trees, to the lake. The bathroom is as romantic as can be with a big tub at the base of an enormous window looking out at the woods, making you feel as if you are bathing in a stream. It is doubtful that you have ever slept so close to the wilderness in such great comfort.
